A technology
company closed their electronic component and assembly product
failure analysis lab in Johnson City, TN. An opportunity was opened
to establish a contract lab to serve
component brokerage companies and
electronic manufacturing companies. Using the skills
acquired over 20+ years working for three large manufacturing
facilities, the JGAR Lab personnel have seen several thousand
failure analysis investigations.
JGAR Labs tests for qualification of new
designs in industrial electronic products, and analysis of defects in components, materials, and electronic and mechanical assemblies.

The Product Analysis Group specializes
in root cause analysis. Analysis expertise includes evaluation of
component defects from field use and manufacturing processes. The
analysis identifies: defects in component construction &
reliability, elements in contamination/corrosion, and
electrical/environmental overstresses.

Analysis Reports provide a clear picture of the root cause, using
the evidence uncovered during the investigation. The analysis
process itself relies on close teamwork with the customer to assure
that the direction, depth, and details of the effort will meet the
customer's needs. Availability of information surrounding the
failure event provided by the customer leads to a more cost
effective analysis process.
Recommendation of effective corrective action minimizes the risk of
future occurrences, which enhances the end value of any failure
analysis. This also serves to mitigate future cost of failures later
in manufacturing and field deployment.
